Carmel Apples

I don't know if anyone would want to eat these but the kids had fun!! Kendra keeps telling us that Halloween is coming to our house. She is excited but I don't think she understands what for.

Fall

I caught a few pics of my kids before church a few weeks ago. Wyatt is the worst about getting his picture made unless he is cross dressing. These pics are scary!

Kendra is 3!

Kendra turned 3 years old on September 28th. I can't believe how time flies. She is my baby!! We had her birthday party at our house and a couple of our good friends and their kids came. Kendra had lots of fun. Grandma Judy and Papa were here and Nonnie and Pappy came over too.

She wa
s so cute when she was opening presents. When she opened her stick horse, she jumped on it and ran around the room and back to where she started. It was so funny.  She is already telling me that she wants to have another birthday. She got lots of girl stuff. Her doll house which she is loving, and polly pockets, barbies and dress up clothes. One of her favorite things came from her Aunt Jesica and her kids- slipper flip flops. I have already had to wash them because she thinks they are regular shoes.

Kendra can be such a sweet girl when she wants to be. She talks like she's 10 most of the time. She thinks that she is big now that she turned 3 and if anyone tells her different then she lets them know. She loves to play with all the girl stuff. She also loves to sing and sings all the time when she is playing. Her new favorite song that she has learned is "Happy Family." She keeps me busy and we wouldn't know what to do without her!! We love you Big Girl!!

Wyatt turned 8 on August 27th. He took cupcakes to school and got to got to Cub Scouts at church that night. He opened his presents when we got home and ate more cupcakes. I think that cupcakes are all he ate that day.

1st Day of School

Monday was the first day of school and Clay's 1st day of Kindergarten. He did great and has a very nice teacher. Wyatt says that he is not glad to be back in school but hasn't complained about going. Except for today, because it is his birthday and he didn't think he should have to go to school on his birthday! He turned 8 today. He took cupcakes to school for his class and has had a good day.

Kendra misses them a little but we have been busy running errands that I won't do with all 3 kids. She keeps asking when she is going to school. Mother's Day Out starts in a couple of weeks and she will be glad to go and see her friends a couple of days a week.

Today is a very sad day for me and many others. My friend, Gary Hensel lost his wife today to cancer. She has been battling for a little over a year now. She was a ray of sunshine and brought sweetness and joy to those around her.  Gary and I worked together on the park board and were successfully able to get a park bond passed to develop more parks in Midlothian. As I read his blog today, I learned that Cindy and I have the same birthday. It also happens to be the last time that she was at home. My thoughts and prayers are for his family.

Home to the HEAT!

Wow! We have really been spoiled the last few summers. It has been 102 to 105 for the past couple of days and there is no end in sight. I don't even like to go outside when it is like this. It hasn't been too humid though so the evenings aren't unbearable. The boys have been fishing in the lake as much as possible even though with the extreme heat and know rain, it is shrinking by leaps and bounds. They've also been swimming in it which grosses me out. We only have 1 puppy left and I am trying to talk Jon in to letting us keep him. He is a sweet puppy. The kids are real original and have named him Brownie.

Wyatt is having his tonsils out on Thursday. He is not excited but I will be glad to not be running to the doctor every other month with Strept. I think he will feel much better.

SUMMER!!

Well, I have not been keeping up with this very well. Summer is flying by. I can't believe in a month that school will start. The kids and I left the end of June and went to Wyoming. Jon joined us a few days later to take a trip to Yellowstone. My parents, Jesica and her family, Nathan, and my cousin, Casey and her family and all of us went. There were 18 of us. 9 Kids!! We had a great time and saw lots of great stuff. Jayson's family joined us for the last 2 nights. It was good to spend some time with them too.

I also got to spend that last weekend I was there at Bear Lake for a family reunion. I got to see many of my cousins and their children and we had a great time. It's like we don't miss a beat. It is always great to get together with them. We have so much fun together (although, it was funner when we were kids and didn't have to  worry about our kids) but it was great to watch our kids interact and play with one another. There were 109 of us at the reunion. It was just my Grandpa's kids, down to great, great grandkids.

We had a great trip! Wyatt did lots of horse riding with Uncle Jayson while we were at the ranch. Clay mostly road on the gator with Grandpa. We didn't come home with too many mosquito bites (the mosquitos up there could carry you off!)

More babies!!

Clay graduated from preschool on Monday night. He did not smile during the whole program. After, he said, "That was so much fun!" No one else would have know by the look on his face. Kendra did good in the program. She did the motions to the songs and sang with blanket in hand.

Josey had her puppies (7!!) on May 20th. She is being a good mommy. She will let all of us touch them but she has snapped at a few others. Eli and the cats just stay away.

Keri and J.C. are here this weekend and the boys are loving it. Between riding the 4-wheeler and catching frogs, they are staying busy. Wyatt still has school and is NOT loving that! Jon's mom and Mike are coming up today for the weekend. Roy and Mary Kay are coming out tonight to celebrate Roy's birthday. I am not going to mention how old he is!

Have a great memorial weekend.

Summer like weather

Well, I can't believe it is almost summer already. Time is flying by. We are playing a lot of baseball. Clay and Wyatt have games 2 times a week and usually have at least 1 practice a week. Wyatt has started playing catcher and likes it a lot.

The kids had fun today playing in the kiddie pool. It was about 90 degrees outside but very nice especially in our shady back yard. We are waiting for our dog, Josey to have puppies. Should be anytime now. The boys caught a turtle today and turned it loose in the lake. We also have baby birds in a tree in the flower bed. We all think living in the country is fun!!

MAY Already!!

My mom came to visit this past week. She was a great help to me. She babysat for me while I worked and stayed busy sewing some things for Wyatt's room. She made a camo bedskirt, pillow shams and curtains. It looks great. Of course, we did a little shopping and I spent way too much. Still trying to decorate.

Our chickens are big and are getting to roam around outside a little bit (with supervision). Clay has started T-ball games and is doing well. We have been practicing running because a jog to 1st base usually means an out. We have had beautiful weather and have been outside enjoying it. My yard is finally in and my garden is planted. I want to wait until my grass turns green to take some pictures. Hope you are all enjoying this busy but great time of year.

WYOMING

Okay, so I am way behind. Kendra and I went to Wyoming a month ago and I am just now posting some pics. We had a great visit. Kendra gave Kyle a big smacker right on the lips! I couldn't stop her fast enough. We really got to just hang out and visit and it was nice. We held sweet baby Kyle. I wanted to bring him home but Danniel and Jayson didn't think that was a good idea.

After being in Wyoming where it still looked like winter, everything here in Texas looked so green. The wildflowers are everywhere and looking out my back window is beautiful. I love this time of year!

More Rain

Jon's lake is finally full and he is loving it. This picture is what I can see out of my kitchen window. It makes me a little more inclined to do dishes. We are trying to get our yard in but it has to quit raining. It just gets dry and then it rains again.

Wyatt is getting very good at taking care of the chicks. He feeds and waters them everyday after school. Clay stands around and holds them. He has named the littlest one Sissy. She has a red dot on her beak so he knows its her. Kendra likes them but is a little rough!
